Visa for an Other World

(Bernard RIBOULET / Pascal LACHAIZE)

No sea, no clouds, no wind, no sky
No flowers, no birds and no cry
The silent vessels cross the space
Like a tear on your face.

We have gone since the day began
The wind blew no more on the land
The flash lasted a few minutes
Like the fear on your lips.

We are looking for some other world alive
We are looking for some other world, other sky
We are looking for some other world alive
We are looking for some other life…
                                               … some other sky.

Now, the spaceship’s streaking through the dark
Maybe we are wide of the mark
But I can follow any road
As I look in your heart.

There is no sun this morning
Maybe astray we are sailing
Yet my heart is burnin’ so bright
Like a torch in the night.

We are looking for some other world alive
(Looking for some other world)
We are looking for some other world, other sky
(Oh! Looking, looking, looking …)

The Returning

(Thierry SPORTOUCHE / Pascal LACHAIZE)

Like a lonely tree
Lost in the grey immensity
Of a snowy sky
A bird is groping his way through the wind.

Drizzle evaporated
Skyline getting closer
Against everyone,
Against anyone.

Rejected by all,
I want to leave
And forget and deny
I want to go far away.

Suddenly the horizon’s getting’ closer
A flower stops blooming
A round of Tom Thumbs stops turning
End of exile, back to the future

Rejected by all,
I want to leave
And forget and deny.

I shall efface the last traces of childhood
In me and lay in the mould of manhood
I love you still, I shall efface the tears
In me and lay in the bed of a lover

Loving you, oh loving you like a child!

The Quest

(Thierry SPORTOUCHE / Pascal LACHAIZE)

I flew to future lands queer
Tried to seek spells afar ere
But when I first glanced at her
My foolish heart almost stopped:
It was her that I looked for
She was the very answer.

Far away deep valleys of grey
Were kingdoms old and skies so cold,
There was sadness in every heart
So long and dark was every night.

In one city lived a wizard
So powerless he was wan
He only bloomed small lilies
Or put smiles on grey faces.

He went and saw the Sorcerer
And prayed (him) to give him power;
He welcomed him with a laughter:
His alchemy could not help him!

He left his lair with despair,
Went off to seek spells elsewhere.

Ride through queer lands
Follow the stars
Fight the dragons
Find the realm where
The fairy dwells!

I flew to future lands queer... (reprise)

Bewitch my heart
My lady knight
I, poor wizard
Lost in the night !

Far away deep valleys of green
Were Magic old and witchcraft queen,
There was happiness in each heart
So brave and gentle was every knight.

The Man in the Moon

(Thierry SPORTOUCHE / Pascal LACHAIZE)

The man in the moon
Came down too soon
He asked his way to Norwich;
He went by the south

And burnt his heart
With supping your cold language.
The sky is still bible black
And despair on the horizon.

The man in the moon
Came down too soon
He asked his way to Norwich;
He went by the south.

Away from those dark walls
And those gloomy streets,
Starless and lost, he’s just
A shadow getting free.

The man in the moon
Came down too soon
He asked his way to Norwich;
He went by the south.

The man in the moon
Came down too soon
The man in the moon
Came down too soon.
